VCR members are invited to come to the Vinings Library Community Room (lower level) to discuss what it means to be a member. Proposed language will be emailed to members in advance of this Townhall discussion. | 10 | 11 | 12 6p VCR - Session 2 of 2 - Red Badge (Orientation) New VCR members are requested to attend both sessions of the Red Badge (Orientation). Each session is held immediately before the Club's service project (Sack Pack) at Vinings United Methodist Church - 3101 Paces Mill Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30339. A light dinner is provided (think sammies, salad, pizza fare), so please confirm your attendance with the President Elect (who will likely be talking with you about the session) for dinner and dietary needs. Session One is typically on even numbered months and Session Two is typically on odd numbered months. These sessions are intended to provide new members with tangible information about VCR, how to get plugged in, and the various opportunities afforded to Rotarians. 7p Sack Pack - Lunches for Table on Delk Vinings Cumberland Rotarians invite the community to join them on the Second Thursdays of the month to assemble lunch sacks (chips, sandwiches, etc.) that are distributed the next day by The Table on Delk to children getting off the school bus in the immediate vicinity of Delk Road and Interstate 75. The Table on Delk is committed to serving individuals at risk of sex-trafficking. Part of that mission includes addressing critical needs of mostly women and their young families to decrease that risk, desperation, and food insecurity. Come for dinner and a show (or just dinner or just the show) and support our exchange student and the arts in education! Tickets and dinner are pay-as-you-go. It is BYO and drop in as you can between 6:00 and 7:15 pm. Let Suzanne you had a make-up! If you are interested in learning about Rotary and the Vinings Cumberland Rotary Club, please feel free to join us! | 27 | 28 10:30 Lazy River Walk If raining (includes drizzle), the Lazy River Walk will be cancelled. Rotarians are invited to bring friends and family to stroll the river path (mostly flat and mostly paved) starting and ending at Paces Mill (National Park). It is located at 3444 Cobb Parkway, Atlanta, Ga 30339 (just South of the BP). We will do a “light litter” pickup as we go; however, the goal is to stroll! To the bridge (I-75) and back is about .75 miles. There are a few other vantage points beyond the bridge, if some folks are interested/inclined. Bring a “Publix” bag for “light litter” pickup and meet at the front of the building in the parking lot. For those interested, we may grab lunch afterwards. |
