On February 6th, Turkey was hit with an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale. Thousands of buildings were collapsed, hospitals collapsed, highways were broken. The cold weather conditions made life even harder and since roads were not available, they cannot send goods. The main natural gas line was broken so electricity and heating was a major issue.
Thousands of deaths and casualties were reported and final numbers of the deaths and devastation cannot be predicted. On March 21, our club board approved a donation of $1500 to Shelter Box for temporary housing for victims of the earthquake.
