Cold Water Project in Lique, Paraguary

The Vinings Cumberland Rotary Club has continued to financially support several water projects in Paraguay over the past 5 years. This year we approved a donation of $2,500 for a new system that was completed at the end of February 2022 and another $2,500 was sent in January 2023 to begin the process of another system.

The project was to install a refrigeration system for accessible cold water in the school. This will provide cold water to students in the Summer months of extreme heat. The Rotary Club in Paraguay inaugurated the fountains at the school on March 15, 2022 with the Mayor as a special guest.

We also have a group of our club members going to Paraguay in June 2023 to meet the members of the Rotary Club of Lique, Paraguay and present another $2,500 to continue and expand the project there. We have also received a Global Grant for this project to install more fountains to other area schools in the coming year.
