This week's featured Rotary meeting speaker
Judge Reuben Green
        Cobb County
Judge Reuben Green presides over Cobb County Veterans Accountability and Treatment Court. Veterans Court serves veterans who have underlying issues associated with their military service which, in part, cause them to be involved in the criminal justice system.
Prior to becoming a Superior Court Judge in 2010, Judge Green served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia, an Assistant District Attorney in the Cobb Judicial Circuit, and as an attorney with the law firm of King & Spalding.
Judge Green graduated with Honors from Emory University School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Before attending college he served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Judge Green is heavily involved in the legal community as a member of the Marine Corps Association of Georgia Lawyers, the Charles Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, Cobb County Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. He also participates annually as a judge in the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition.
He is on the Boards for the Rotary Club of Marietta and the Continuum of Care for Cobb County, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Atlanta Chapter of the Federalist Society. He has participated with a number of civic and professional organizations, including Rotary International, Boy Scouts of America, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Marietta Mentoring for Leadership, and the Marietta Pilgrimage Tour. Judge Green has also taught courses in law, professionalism, and criminal justice at Emory University School of Law, Kennesaw State University, and Chattahoochee Technical College.
Judge Green is a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. He is married and has two children.

Rotary District 69000 Conference (April 26-29)

District conference designed to engage Rotarians, their guests, and families for a weekend full of inspirational stories, entertaining sessions, and educational breakouts, AND FUN!

If you have been to Conference before, you will notice a few things different this year!

All sessions are limited to 90 minutes or less so more time can be dedicated to enjoying time with fellow Rotarians, family and friends.

Schedule Overview

  • Thursday - Rotacon Geek Night (ticketed event) - wear your most obnoxious Rotary gear and enjoy a low country boil with live music

  • Friday morning - Rotacon Adventure - spend time enjoying Sandestin's range of activities including Rotacon golf, tennis, and spa packages, and special activities for family and guests (details will be published by February 15, 2018)
  • Friday afternoon - Rotacon You - learn about impactful Rotary initiatives such as Rotary Means Business, engaging young leaders, creative club formats, and developing partners at home and abroad.
  • Friday evening - Rotacon Inspiration - General Session #1
  • Saturday early morning - Rotacon Polio Walk and Rise Against Hunger Service Event
  • Saturday late morning - The Rotacon Talk (TED-style social innovation topics) - General Session #2
  • Saturday afternoon - Rotacon Casual - ENJOY THE BEACH! Or if you'd like to stay in indoors, enjoy a lifestyle learning session or even a live painting session for all to view by the top portrait artist in the world, Ross Rossin!
  • Saturday evening - Rotacon Academy Service Awards - General Session #3 - celebrate an incredible year of service and Rotarian sweat in an Oscars-style awards presentation for Best Community Project and Best International Project in each of our club categories. Clubs can express their Hollywood personalities by selecting a favorite movie and asking all participants from their clubs to dress in the style of that movie. The program will wrap up by 7:00 p.m. to allow attendees time to enjoy dinner with their clubs, family, or friends.
  • Sunday morning - Rotacon Celebration - General Session #4
Bring the family and enjoy an incredible, entertaining weekend in a beautiful setting!
President Elect Joe Luranc is our Conference Chairman this year and can answer your questions or visit to register, book lodging, and learn more.

Congratulations...and THANK YOU to our 2018/19 Club Officers!

Rotarian Luke has done an awesome job with the set-up before our Wednesday meetings but needs some help. We are setting up a Sergeant at Arms committee to help out when Luke can't be at the meetings...please consider volunteer for this very easy, low time consuming role but very crucial. Please see President Ross about this.
